“American Idiot” Opening Night Video

This was a project for the Center Theatre Group of Los Angeles, CA. We shot the interviews and edited the piece within a weeks time. CTG supplied the music and the performance footage. We were able to get them the first draft within 48hrs of shooting the interview footage. We then spent the next few days making minimal changes. They really seem to love the piece, so that makes us extremely excited.

If you love theater and if you love Green Day, you should make it down to the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown Los Angeles to see it. Great show!

Dancing Doctor

Last year, I was assigned to photograph Dr. Jason Cheng, an anesthesiologist at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Downey, CA. In addition to being a doctor, he teaches dance classes to employees and patients. He got the idea when he and his wife started taking dance classes. He noticed that over time, he had lost about 25 pounds. He realized that it was a great way for others to get active.

Abandoned Gas Station

This pic was taken while walking around Downtown Covina, CA. I saw this abandoned gas station and took a quick shot with my iphone. I got home, played around with it on my iphone and realized how nice the shot was. Later in the week, I decided to go back and take a pic with my medium format camera. This is the final image.

Old Negs

So, recently, I’ve decided to start scanning in some of my old negs that have been sitting around in boxes. For some reason, I’ve been hit with this need to take pictures with film again. Not sure why, but I just can’t seem to let it go. I found these negs and decided to scan them in. These are pics of horses that used to live right down the street from me. Often my neighbors would feed the horses carrots and apples, which in turn made them use to people and easy to approach. I find horses to be incredibly beautiful animals and found it a joy to take a few pics of them. I hope you enjoy these two shots as much as I enjoyed taking them. Images shot with Agfa 400.

Photographing Wynter

Wynter is a model that recently contacted me about taking headshots and portraits for her new portfolio. While I was photographing her, I decided to break out my Mamiya 645AFD and snap off a few pics of her in the studio. I hadn’t used it in a while, and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to grab some shots with it. I used Ilford 100 Delta for these shots.
